Crumb Rubber Modifier

Crumb Rubber Modifier (CRM) is used in Asphalt Rubber Binder Chip Seal and Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA). There are two material specifications for CRM, scrap tire crumb rubber and high natural scrap tire crumb rubber.

The specification requirements for scrap tire crumb rubber and high natural scrap tire crumb rubber are listed in Section 37-2.04A(4)(C)(iii), Section 39-2.03A(4)(e)(ii)(C) and Section 92-1.02 B of the Standard Specifications.

Products on this AML are products that have been evaluated and found acceptable for use, provided the products are used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. California Department of Transportation ("Caltrans") may perform additional job control testing during construction or installation.
